Overview
To support the increasing market high data bandwidth demand (higher than 28Gbps) COMTEL is the first to introduce the next generation of Highspeed Backplanes technology – Air-/-Plane 56TM for protocols such as 200GBASE-KR4 Ethernet and PCIe Gen 5.
The Air-/-Plane 56TM technology implemented into the VPX measurement card optimized with RT3 MultiGig connectors for measurements of the VPX backplane links capability up to 56Gbps.
It is characterized by a small differential impedance mismatch from the cable to inner routing and from inner routing to RT3 connector (<10% in both cases).
This Test Card is pluggable in development and deployable chassis and open 3U and 6U backplanes, all VPX channels available per 3U card from front card side, by compression remounted on PCB Right-angled, 40GHz interposer connector with 8 channels each.
The backplane measured in this report is first on the market 200G COMTEL VPX/SOSA aligned, 6U 5 Slots Monolithic Backplane based on COMTEL Air-/-Plane 56TM Technology. It has four SLT6-PAY-4F2Q1H4U1T1S1S1TU2U2T1H-10.6.4 payloads slots and one VITA65/SOSA SLT6-SWH-14F16U1U15U1J-10.8.1switch slot in the middle. Backplane utilises all 14 FP Data planes of the switch slots and all Control Planes of the payloads. All Expansions Planes are distributed between pairs of payloads.
